Helium & Dirigibles, Airships 1931 Article

In Stock 0

This is an original illustrated magazine article that has been carefully extracted from an 1931 issue of The Country Gentleman. Article discusses the discovery of helium in Dexter, Kansas and the advent of airships including the Navy's new ZRS-4 and ZRS-5 which were just being built. Also mentions the Goodyear Zeppelin Corporation (subsidiary of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co) which had invested enormous sums in the airship industry, and the probability that dirigibles will come into general use commercially. Includes a photo of the "Akron, " the world's largest airship as it neared completion.
