1918 WWI Aerial Gunner on Bomber Plane Print

In Stock 0

Nice old print illustrated by Lt. Henri Farre that has been carefully removed from a 1918 issue of The Ladies Home Journal. Reverse side contains unrelated art and/or text.

Caption reads:

The pilot wounded, the plane descending, himself unable to fire through his propeller at the pursuing enemy, this gunner crept out on the lower wing of the great bombing machine against a terrific air pressure, lay prone and, with his rifle, kept the enemy at bay until a successful landing was made behind the French lines. No more daredevil exploit than this is recorded in all the chronicles of war aviation.

Title: The Thrilling Exploit of an Aerial Gunner.
