This is the original cover of The Red Cross Magazine dated November 1918. A Red Cross nurse welcomes a young woman who has come to help. Statue of Liberty looms in the background.
Artist/Illustrator: Paul Meylan
Approximate Size (in inches): 7¼ x 10¼
Condition: Good to VG. Upper right corner is clipped slightly (the small piece that was hanging off in the photo has torn away). Two small rips at bottom edge (not visible in the photo).
This is the cover only . . . not the entire magazine.
Please note: Although we have given a very general grade for condition, please keep in mind that magazine covers suffer much harsher treatment than the rest of the magazine. After years of being handled and tossed around, it is likely that an old cover will show signs of wear including small rips, creases, discoloration/staining, edge chipping, general surface wear, etc. If there is anything more severe, we will note that in the description. It is also helpful to look closely at the picture(s) we have provided above to get a better idea of condition of this cover.
