This is the original cover of the Saturday Evening Post from October 3, 1914. Leyendecker cover depicts grandfatherly man with his corncob pipe and slippers reading newspaper with headlines about war. His cat lies contentedly at this feet.
Artist/Illustrator: J.C. Leyendecker
Approximate Size (in inches): 10.25 x 13.5
Condition: Good to VG. Some wear in header area where a mailing label was removed. Light discoloration at right edge.
This is the cover only . . . not the entire magazine.
A note about vintage covers: Old magazine covers understandably take more of a beating than the interior of a magazine. After years of being handled, it is likely the cover will exhibit one or more of the following: general surface wear; small rips and tears; areas of discoloration/staining; etc. We have provided a brief general description of condition, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Please view the picture(s) we have provided to get a better idea of the condition of this cover.
