This is the original cover of The Graphic Magazine (from London) dated November 27, 1911. This is the Christmas Number featuring a large, stunning cover depicting a young soldier (?) with a beautiful young woman. This art in the oval is signed in the upper left, but I cannot make out the signature. The lovely border has angels/cupids surrounding the oval with boughs of holly at the bottom. This art is signed G. Jennis.
Artist/Illustrator: Illegible/G. Jennis
Approximate Size (in inches): 16 x 12
Condition: Good with wear at the edges/corners. Small rip at top left edge. Top and bottom left corners are slightly torn away/flea bitten.
This is the cover only . . . not the entire magazine.
Please note:
Although we have given a very general grade for condition, please keep in mind that magazine covers suffer much harsher treatment than the rest of the magazine. After years of being handled and tossed around, it is likely that an old cover will show signs of wear including small rips, creases, discoloration/staining, edge chipping, general surface wear, etc.
If there is anything more severe, we will note that in the description. It is also helpful to look closely at the picture(s) we have provided above to get a better idea of condition of this cover.
