1904 Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass Print

This is a delightful antique color plate from a scarce edition of Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, published by Frederick Stokes circa 1904. Illustrated by M.L. (Maria) Kirk, the plate being offered here illustrates the following excerpt:

'Do I look very pale?' said Tweedledum, coming up to have his helmet tied on. (He called it a helmet, though it certainly looked much more like a saucepan.). . .

. . . It was getting dark so suddenly that Alice thought there must be a thunderstorm coming on. 'What a thick black cloud that is!' she said. 'And how fast it comes! Why, I do believe it's got wings!'

'It's the crow!' Tweedledum cried out in a shrill voice of alarm: and the two brothers took to their heels and were out of sight in a moment.

Page size is approximately 5.5" x 8". Image size is approximately 4.5" x 6.5". Printed on cream color paper-weight stock. No text, no caption. Reverse side is blank. Very good condition with light wear to lower right page corner. Colors are richer and more vibrant than portrayed in above photo.

Ready to matte and frame. Lovely for a child's room.
