1904 Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass Print

1904 Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass Print

This is a delightful antique color plate from a scarce edition of Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, published by Frederick Stokes circa 1904. Illustrated by M.L. (Maria) Kirk, the plate being offered here illustrates the following excerpt:

''She's coming!' cried the Larkspur. 'I hear her footstep, thump, thump, thump, along the gravel-walk!'

Alice looked round eagerly, and found that it was the Red Queen. 'She's grown a good deal!' was her first remark. She had indeed: when Alice first found her in the ashes, she had been only three inches high and here she was, half a head taller than Alice herself!

Page size is approximately 5.5" x 8". Image size is approximately 4.5" x 6.5". Printed on cream color paper-weight stock. No text, no caption. Reverse side is blank. Very good condition. Colors are richer and more vibrant than portrayed in above photo.

Ready to matte and frame. Lovely for a child's room.
