This is an original issue of The Illustrated American dated April 19, 1890. Of particular interest here are articles about the Mississippi floods and the Louisville Cyclone. The article on the flooding is two pages long with several illustrations and a full page of photos. The article on the cyclone is about a page a half long with three full pages of photos and several illustrations.
Also inside: An article about Yale Athletics with a page of wonderful photos; article about a Union League Reception for General Sherman with a photo of him as well several other Generals; a small blurb about Walt Whitman who was about to turn 72, and more. The cover illustration is also of Walt Whitman, signed Gribayedoff.
You get the entire magazine which is 22 pages long. It is complete except for an extra colored plate which is not present.

Condition: Good with normal age wear. Some water damping around edges.
