Description: Fabulous antique honeycomb Valentine (circa 1910's/20's). Unsigned but most likely the work of the wonderful Chloe Preston. Embossed, 3-D style, die cut, large piece, printed in Germany.
Lovely imagery in this Valentine . . . a young boy sits outside the window of his young love and serenades her with a mandolin. A small dog sits at his feet. The young girl looks out at him clutching her teddy bear. Two large sunflowers grow outside the window with the watering can nearby. A big sun peeks out from the left side of the building, a bird chirps at the other side, and a heart sits at the top.
The second image above (click arrow) shows the piece next to a soda can (not included) to give you an idea of the size of this Valentine.
Text: (printed on the card attached to the honeycomb) To my Valentine. This Valentine is sent to you, so guess who is your lover true.
Approximate Size (in inches): 6½ x 8
Condition: Very nice condition with very little wear. It looks like the tip of the thatched roof on the right side might have torn away.
