It's hard to appreciate the stunning detail and clarity of this print until you see it in person.
Although this print is not in coloróthis somewhat heavy portrait of his wife dressed in grand state costume composed of a garnet gown, yellow skirt, a straw hat with yellow feathers, and having at her feet her child and her dog, and near her the portrait of her husband, merited Wille's praise for "the skill of his execution of all the parts, especially of satin garments."
