This is the original cover of The Saturday Evening Post dated April 23, 1955. A man carries his sleeping son at the Dodgers game.
Artist/Illustrator: Earl Mayan (unsigned)
Approximate Size (in inches): 10½ x 13½
Condition: Good with normal age wear particularly around edges. Address label at lower right. There is a library blind stamp (a colorless impression that is embossed on paper) just under the white text box near the top, which has also created a small hole. There is a date stamped faintly in the white text box (please examine photos).
This is the cover only . . . not the entire magazine.
Please note: Although we have given a very general grade for condition, please keep in mind that magazine covers suffer much harsher treatment than the rest of the magazine. After years of being handled and tossed around, it is likely that an old cover will show signs of wear including small rips, creases, discoloration/staining, edge chipping, general surface wear, etc. If there is anything more severe, we will note that in the description. It is also helpful to look closely at the picture(s) we have provided above to get a better idea of condition of this cover.
