1900 Guernsey Moore ~ Rhyme of the Tory Tollevers

This is "Rhyme of the Tory Tollevers" that has been carefully extracted from an old issue of St. Nicholas Magazine. Written by Ethel Parton and illustrated by Guernsey Moore, it's the story of Little Prue, who goes to warn her Tory neighbors that a lynch mob is on its way to hang Mr. Tollever. The Tollevers flee in a panic leaving a sleeping baby behind. Prue goes back for the baby and is caught by the lynch mob, but the brave little girl faces them down telling them he is too little a Tory to hang.
