1944 WWII Thompson Aircraft Ad ~ Aerial Photographer at Truk

In Stock: 1
1944 WWII Thompson Aircraft Ad ~ Aerial Photographer at Truk

Original vintage WWII era magazine ad for Thompson Aircraft. Nice old ad tells the story of young Marine Corporal Tom Humphrey who worked at Thompson Aircraft prior to enlisting. He was an aerial photographer on one of the two Liberators that flew over Truk, photographing and mapping the enemy base, which led to the battleship raid on Truk 12 days later. Art is signed illegibly (looks like Arthur Brauhaul?).

Tagline or sample ad copy: One of our Boys helps pry the lid off Truk

Publication Year: 1944

Approximate Ad Size (in inches): 10 x 13½

Condition: VG.

Price: $14.99
