This is the original cover of The Saturday Evening Post dated July 5, 1924. Uncle Sam takes a snooze on July Fourth but that firecracker is likely to wake him.
Artist/Illustrator/Photographer: J.C. Leyendecker
Approximate Size (in inches): 10½ x 13¾
Condition: Some light discoloration around edges. Small piece (very tip) of lower left corner is torn away and it looks like a small area of damp staining in the same corner. Otherwise good condition.
This is the cover only . . . not the entire magazine.
Please note: Although we have given a very general grade for condition, please keep in mind that magazine covers suffer much harsher treatment than the rest of the magazine. After years of being handled and tossed around, it is likely that an old cover will show signs of wear including small rips, creases, discoloration/staining, edge chipping, general surface wear, etc. If there is anything more severe, we will note that in the description. It is also helpful to look closely at the picture(s) we have provided above to get a better idea of condition of this cover.
